Actor Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly in advanced negotiations with filmmaker Mohit Suri for an ambitious musical romance set against the gritty backdrop of gangsters and hired assassins. The project is expected to be backed by Yash Raj Films.
According to a UNI report, which quoted Bollywood Hungama website, sources suggest that Suri has long been keen to collaborate with Ranbir and has held multiple meetings with the actor to discuss the film. The development comes after the success of Suri’s recent work and strong backing from Aditya Chopra, which has helped move the project forward.
The delay in his ongoing projects, including ‘Love and War’ and ‘Ramayana’, has reportedly affected Ranbir’s availability, and the actor is carefully evaluating his calendar before making a final decision. However, insiders reveal that Ranbir has responded positively to the script and believes it has significant theatrical potential.
The project is also expected to have a strong musical component, which could play a major role in shaping its appeal.
