Tata Play Bollywood Premiere is marking Republic Day with a specially curated line-up of films that reflect the spirit of India through stories of courage, truth and justice. The programming brings together hard-hitting narratives and heroic tales that explore patriotism beyond symbolism, focusing instead on conscience, sacrifice and the moral choices that shape the nation.
According to a Tata Play press release, the Republic Day special aims to use cinema as a lens to reflect India’s resilience and its ongoing pursuit of justice. The curated slate features films that provoke thought, spark debate and highlight the emotional cost of standing up for what is right, making it a fitting watch for the long weekend.
Headlining the Republic Day programming is ‘Jawan’, which will air on January 26 at 2.300 pm. Shah Rukh Khan essays a dual role in the film, alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, blending mass entertainment with a strong socio-political message. Beneath its high-octane action lies a story rooted in accountability, responsibility and the power of the common citizen, positioning it as a rousing Republic Day watch.
The line-up also includes ‘The Kashmir Files’, scheduled for January 24 at 5 pm. Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar and Pallavi Joshi, the film revisits the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits with raw emotion and unflinching honesty. Anchored by Anupam Kher’s deeply moving performance, the film confronts a painful chapter of history, reminding viewers of the Republic’s responsibility to acknowledge every voice that has shaped the nation.
On January 25 at 3 pm, ‘Batla House’ brings to screen the controversial 2008 encounter that sparked national debate. John Abraham delivers a restrained yet intense performance, supported by Mrunal Thakur and Ravi Kishan. The film captures the psychological and emotional toll of serving the nation under scrutiny, raising questions about truth, duty and patriotism beyond headlines.
The Republic Day weekend also features ‘Section 375’, airing on January 25 at 7 pm. Led by Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha, the courtroom drama examines justice through the complexities of India’s legal system. With sharp arguments and moral ambiguity, the film reflects the constitutional values that form the backbone of the Republic, where the pursuit of truth is often layered and challenging.
Rounding off the celebration is ‘Satyameva Jayate’, which will air on January 26 at 5 pm. Starring John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee, the film stages a fiery confrontation between corruption and conscience.
