The much-awaited trailer of Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri-starrer ‘O’Romeo’ has been unveiled, offering a gritty glimpse into a world driven by passion, betrayal and violence, set against the shadowy backdrop of Mumbai’s underworld.
According to a UNI report, the trailer introduces Shahid Kapoor as Ustara, a fierce and volatile gangster shaped by love and vengeance. His character embarks on a brutal journey that forms the emotional and violent core of the film, blending romance with raw, unsettling intensity.
The visuals open in the murky lanes of Mumbai, where power and survival dictate every choice. Triptii plays a troubled woman who turns to Ustara for help, only for their connection to spiral into emotional chaos and conflict. Their relationship, inspired by true events, forms the heart of the narrative, where love becomes both a refuge and a trigger for destruction.
Shahid and Triptii’s chemistry unfolds through silences and restrained emotions, giving the trailer a haunting emotional undercurrent. Avinash Tiwary appears as the antagonist, marked by savage fight sequences and a chilling bull-slaying scene that underlines the ruthless nature of his character.
The trailer also features impactful appearances by veteran actor Nana Patekar, along with Farida Jalal, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani. Shahid and Disha share screen space in a vibrant dance number that briefly lifts the film’s dark tone, while Vikrant Massey makes a special cameo appearance.
Music plays a key role in shaping the film’s mood, with Vishal Bhardwaj reuniting with lyricist Gulzar and singer Arijit Singh. Their collaboration promises a soundtrack that mirrors the film’s poetic yet grim emotional landscape. The recently released song ‘Hum To Tere Hi Liye The’ stands out for its tender contrast to the film’s violent setting.
‘O’Romeo’ is slated to hit theatres during Valentine’s week on February 13.
