Sesame Workshop and YouTube are making it easier for families to watch and learn with Sesame Street muppets as both announced that YouTube will be the largest digital library of Sesame Street content, bringing a treasure trove of iconic episodes, original videos, unique Shorts, and thematic programming.
More than 100 full Sesame Street episodes from previous seasons are now available on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app for the first time. This includes episodes from recent seasons as well as some of the most beloved moments from Sesame Street history that fans have been waiting for.
The episodes are now available to stream free across both the main Sesame Street YouTube channel and Sesame Street Classics channel, Katie Kurtz, Managing Director, Youth and Learning Partnerships at YouTube, stated in a blog post.
In addition to full-length episodes, viewers will find an expanded library featuring unique Shorts starring all of the favourite Sesame Street Muppets, one to two-hour long-form compilations thematically curated by topics essential for growing minds, Kurtz said the blogspot late last week.
YouTube and YouTube Kids gives families a single destination for all the content they love and support Sesame Workshop’s mission to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger and kinder, the blog concluded.
Earlier in May 2025, Sesame Workshop had unveiled a global partnership with Netflix for Sesame Street’s all-new, reimagined 56th season, plus 90 hours of previous episodes.
“Now Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, and all their friends are coming to Netflix…The new season will feature fresh format changes and the return of fan-favourite segments like ‘Elmo’s World’ and ‘Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck’,” Sesame Workshop had stated, adding new episodes will center on one 11-minute story, allowing for even more character-driven humour.
