Pocket FM has kicked off 2026 with the announcement of a large-scale mythological audio adaptation of author Kevin Missal’s bestselling book series ‘The Kalki Trilogy’. The project marks the platform’s first major intellectual property launch of the year and reinforces its growing focus on IP-led storytelling in the audio space.
According to a Moneycontrol report, ‘The Kalki Trilogy’ will be developed as an expansive Hindi audio series, transforming the popular novels into an immersive, long-form listening experience. The adaptation follows Pocket FM’s recent high-profile projects, including Shaktimaan Returns and the expansion of the ‘Baahubali’ universe, as the platform steadily builds a diverse audio-first content ecosystem.
Rooted in Indian mythology, ‘The Kalki Trilogy’ is set in the war-ravaged land of Illavarti, ruled by the tyrannical Kali. The story centres on the rise of Kalki, believed to be the final Avatar of Vishnu, as he navigates a world consumed by moral decay, violence, and the looming battle between destiny and free will. The audio adaptation will span 60 episodes, gradually building toward an epic confrontation that determines the fate of dharma and humanity.
While staying true to the core narrative of the novels, the audio series aims to go beyond a straightforward retelling. It explores untold backstories, deeper emotional arcs, and unseen conflicts, adding new layers to the original trilogy. Enhanced by cinematic sound design, immersive background scores, and powerful voice performances, the series is designed to create a vivid, theatre-of-the-mind experience for listeners.
Vineet Singh, SVP and Head of Brand Marketing and Partnerships at Pocket FM, said the adaptation aligns with the company’s long-term vision of building scalable entertainment universes. He noted that the morally complex world of Illavarti lends itself particularly well to audio, allowing listeners to engage deeply with its atmosphere and characters while taking culturally rooted Indian stories to a global audience.
Author Kevin Missal also welcomed the adaptation, describing the experience of hearing his fictional world come alive in audio as deeply personal. He said the format captures both the scale of war and the inner turmoil of Kalki in an intimate way, while respecting the essence of the original books.
With ‘The Kalki Trilogy’, Pocket FM continues to strengthen its position as a key player in premium, long-form audio storytelling. The series will be available exclusively on Pocket FM in Hindi and is set to launch soon.
