Avinash Kaul has resigned from his position as CEO of Network18 (Broadcast) and Managing Director of A+E Networks, bringing to an end a long and influential tenure at Network18 Media & Investments Limited, which oversees Network18 group of news channels, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Kaul, however, was not available for comments and the company did not offer any formal statement on his exit and who would replace him.
Associated with the Network18 group for more than ten years, Kaul played a key role across several leadership positions helping in reshaping the news network. Over the course of his journey, he served as CEO of the IBN News Network and President, Chief Operating Officer, and Managing Director of A+E Networks, before eventually taking over as CEO-Broadcast of Network18.
In the past year, his mandate was further expanded, with a sharper focus on driving direct revenue growth across the group’s television, digital and print businesses. Alongside this, he continued to oversee ratings performance and key operational verticals across TV and print. In his role, Kaul reported to Rahul Joshi.
A seasoned media professional, Kaul brought with him decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry. Before joining Network18, he served as CEO of the television division at Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited, which operates the Times TV Network and Zoom TV. His career also includes senior leadership stints at Sahara One Entertainment & Media, NDTV Media, Star India, Discovery Communications and WPP, giving him a broad-based understanding of broadcasting, content, and media monetisation.
