Veteran actor Anupam Kher has begun work on his 550th film, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla 2’, marking a rare milestone in an acting career that has spanned over four decades. Describing the moment as deeply emotional, Kher said he feels he has reached only the “interval point” of his life and career, with much more still left to offer.
According to an ANI report, the actor shared his thoughts through a heartfelt post on social media, reflecting on his long journey in cinema and expressing gratitude to audiences and the film fraternity for their unwavering support. Recalling an interaction at the Cannes Film Festival last year, Kher said an international director had dubbed him the “marathon man of Indian cinema” after learning about the sheer volume of his work, a remark that stayed with him.
Kher said he never imagined reaching such a landmark when he first arrived in Mumbai on June 3, 1981. Beginning his 550th film in Delhi, he noted, filled him with thankfulness as he prepared to give his first shot for ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla 2’. The actor underlined that despite the achievement, his passion for work remains undiminished.
Emphasising that he still has “so much to give”, Kher said he firmly believes dreams have no expiry date. He credited optimism, perseverance and an unyielding work ethic as the core strengths that have sustained him through the years and helped him navigate the highs and lows of a demanding profession.
The actor also extended his gratitude to producers, directors, co-actors, technicians and, above all, audiences, stating that his survival and success over the decades would not have been possible without their support. He concluded his message on a note of positivity, reaffirming his commitment to continue working with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
On the professional front, Anupam Kher was recently seen stepping behind the camera for his second directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, which featured debutant Shubhangi Dutt in the lead role.
