Actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alizeh Agnihotri are set to share screen space in an upcoming musical film, which will be the Hindi adaptation of the critically acclaimed French movie La ‘Famille Bélier’.
The project marks a fresh pairing and is expected to bring an emotional, music-driven story to Indian audiences.
According to a PTI report, the film will be directed by Vikas Bahl and is inspired by the 2014 French-Belgian coming-of-age drama helmed by Éric Lartigau. The original film follows the life of a 16-year-old girl who serves as the interpreter for her deaf parents and discovers her exceptional singing talent, forcing her to choose between family responsibilities and personal ambition.
An industry insider revealed that the Hindi version remains rooted in the emotional core of the French original. “It’s a beautiful film and a musical at heart. The inspiration comes directly from La Famille Bélier, which was later remade in Hollywood as CODA and went on to win at the Oscars. The space of the film is similar to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi,” the source told PTI, adding that the makers have consciously returned to the original French narrative for this adaptation.
With Siddhant Chaturvedi stepping into a genre that blends music and emotion, and Alizeh Agnihotri continuing to explore diverse roles, the film is already generating interest. While further details about the cast and release timeline are awaited, the musical remake promises a heartfelt story centred on dreams, sacrifice and the power of music.
