Zee News has surged to the No. 2 position in the BARC India ratings for Week 50 of 2025, recording its best performance in nearly six years and reinforcing its growing connect with news viewers across the country. The latest rankings place the channel among the top performers in the highly competitive Hindi news genre.
As per the latest BARC India report (HSM | All 15+ | 06:00–24:00 hrs), Zee News emerged as the second most-watched Hindi news channel during the week, registering a 10.2 percent market share. The channel reached 50.8 million viewers, with strong engagement levels indicating a sustained rise rather than a short-term spike.
The channel’s performance was particularly notable in rural and free-to-air segments. In HSM Rural, Zee News ranked No. 1 among NCCS All 15+ audiences with a market share of 12.2 percent, while also delivering the highest rural reach at 17.6 million viewers. On the Free Platform, the channel continued its leadership position with a 12.7 percent market share and a reach of 15 million viewers.
Regionally, Zee News strengthened its footprint in key Hindi-speaking markets. The channel secured the top position in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where it recorded a 13.5 percent market share, underlining its resonance with audiences in politically and socially significant states.
The strong showing has also bolstered Zee Media Corporation Limited’s overall network performance, supported by steady cumulative reach and sustained time spent across its channels. In a crowded broadcast environment, industry indicators such as GRAT, market share, cumulative reach and average time spent per viewer reflected consistent traction across both urban and emerging markets.
According to the channel, the momentum is driven by sharper storytelling, stronger on-ground reporting and a renewed editorial focus on credibility and viewer relevance. With its Week 50 performance, Zee News has further consolidated its position among leading Hindi news broadcasters, signalling continued momentum as competition in the news space intensifies.
