Ajay Devgn is set to reprise one of his most memorable roles as Vijay Salgaonkar in ‘Drishyam 3’, with the makers confirming that the film will release theatrically on October 2, 2026.
The announcement was made on Monday, generating strong excitement among fans of the thriller franchise. Shooting for the third instalment is currently underway and progressing at full pace.
According to an ANI report, ‘Drishyam 3’ is being filmed across multiple cities and locations, with the story moving forward within the established ‘Drishyam’ timeline. The makers have promised new and unexpected twists that will further test the resilience and intelligence of the Salgaonkar family, while retaining the core emotional strength that has defined the series so far.
Portrayed with quiet intensity by Ajay Devgn, Vijay Salgaonkar has emerged as an iconic on-screen character — a simple, middle-class man who confronts extraordinary adversity not through violence, but with sharp thinking, unwavering determination and deep love for his family. Over the previous films, Vijay has also been seen as a powerful representation of an emotionally grounded father, standing tall against every challenge with intelligence and composure.
The third part will see the return of the original ensemble cast, including Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor, along with other well-known actors reprising their roles. The makers have hinted that the narrative will raise the stakes further, delivering edge-of-the-seat drama as secrets resurface and new conflicts unfold.
Presented by Star Studio18, ‘Drishyam 3’ is a Panorama Studios production. The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak and written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The project is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.
With its release set for October 2, 2026, ‘Drishyam 3’ is expected to continue the franchise’s legacy as one of Hindi cinema’s most gripping and emotionally driven thrillers, once again placing Vijay Salgaonkar at the centre of a story where every move matters.
