Warner Bros. Discovery and Times Network have jointly released ‘Unheard Cries at GB Road’, a documentary that brings forward the lived experiences of women in Delhi’s red-light district through direct, on-record testimonies.

The film premiered on discovery+ on November 17, 2025.

Produced by Times Now Studios and co-written and produced by Rohit Chadda, the documentary is built on more than 50 detailed interviews with survivors, sex workers, police officials, social workers, and subject experts.

At a time when depictions of red-light districts in mainstream media often lean on fictionalisation, the film positions itself as a factual, testimony-driven account of trauma, resilience, and systemic injustice.

Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids – South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the documentary aligns with the company’s commitment to responsible storytelling. “Unheard Cries at GB Road is a story that demands to be seen and heard… By giving these women the space to speak for themselves, the documentary brings rare honesty and emotional depth to a subject too often misunderstood,” he said.

The documentary also incorporates insights from Delhi Police and field workers to contextualise the women’s experiences within broader issues of trafficking, law enforcement, and safety. Alongside the physical realities of brothel life, the film traces the psychological impact of coercion, fear and instability, while highlighting the moments of hope that many of the women continue to hold.

A spokesperson for Times Network said the production team spent considerable time building trust with the women before recording their stories, “Rohit Chadda said, “We made this film to confront a truth that has long remained ignored. Our commitment from the very beginning was to tell these stories with honesty, dignity, and responsibility – and we hope it resonates deeply enough to spark reflection, conversation, and a sense of hope, which results in long term change. Unheard Cries at GB Road is the first production under the banner of Times Now Studios, and we intend to build on this foundation by creating more meaningful, purpose-driven stories that deserve a platform and a voice.”

“This special documentary, produced under Times Now Studios and directed by Rohit Chadda and Yatharth Chauhan, is built on more than 50 in-depth interviews.”

‘Unheard Cries at GB Road’ aims to give viewers a grounded window into an environment long discussed but rarely represented with direct voices from within.
