The trailer for filmmaker Marta Bergman’s gripping new drama ‘L’enfant Bélier’ (The Silent Run) has been released ahead of its world premiere in the International Competition at the upcoming Cairo Film Festival 2025.
As per the ANI report, the film follows the story of Sara and Adam, a young couple who, along with their two-year-old daughter, have entered Belgium illegally and are desperately trying to reach England. Packed tightly among other migrants in the back of a van, their hope for a better future begins to crumble as fear and uncertainty take hold.
Meanwhile, Redouane, a veteran police officer with two decades of experience, spends his nights pursuing smugglers along Belgium’s busy motorways. One fateful night, as his team intercepts a van suspected of transporting migrants, everything changes.
Producer Arnaud Chevallier reportedly shared the trailer on his YouTube channel, offering a tense glimpse into Bergman’s emotionally charged narrative. The film, shot in both French and Arabic, stars Salim Kechiouche, Zbeida Belhajamor, Clara Toros, and Abda Razak Alsweha. The screenplay has been co-written by Bergman, Camille Mol, Ely Chevillot, and Sacha Ferbus.
Produced by Cassandre Warnauts and Jean-Yves Roubin of Frakas Productions, alongside Geneviève Lavoie and Richard Angers of Productions des Années Lumière, ‘L’enfant Bélier’ continues Bergman’s exploration of social and human struggles through a deeply empathetic lens.
