Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, known for acclaimed Tamil films such as Jigarthanda and Pizza, has announced his next project in collaboration with Guneet Monga Kapoor’s Sikhya Entertainment. The untitled film marks a fresh creative partnership between two of India’s most dynamic voices in cinema, promising an engaging and distinctive storytelling experience.
According to a PTI report, the production of the film began on Monday in Madurai, kicking off what is expected to be one of the most anticipated Tamil projects of the year. The film also holds a special significance for Subbaraj, as it marks his 10th directorial feature, adding another milestone to his versatile filmmaking journey.
Sikhya Entertainment, headed by producer Guneet Monga Kapoor, has carved a niche for itself through critically acclaimed and award-winning films such as the Academy Award-winning documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Masaan’, ‘Pagglait’, and ‘Kathal’. The production house is known for backing stories that combine strong narratives with emotional depth and cultural authenticity.
Karthik Subbaraj, who has consistently delivered unconventional and genre-defying cinema, is expected to bring his signature storytelling style to this project as well. While details about the cast, plot, and release date remain under wraps, the collaboration between Subbaraj and Sikhya has already created a buzz across the Tamil film industry.
With two powerhouse names joining forces, the upcoming film is poised to blend artistic vision with mainstream appeal, continuing the evolution of new-age Tamil cinema on a national stage.
