The much-awaited action entertainer ‘Vilaayath Buddha’, directed by Jayan Nambiar and starring Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, is all set to hit theatres worldwide on November 21, 2025.
Produced by Sandip Senan and A V Anoop under the banner of Millennial Media Consulting, the film has already generated massive excitement among fans ahead of its release.
As reported by IANS, Prithviraj took to his social media handles to share the update, writing, “#VilaayathBudha in cinemas, November 21st!” The actor will be seen essaying the role of ‘Double Mohan’, a daring and witty smuggler who operates in the underworld of sandalwood trade.
The film’s recently released teaser has amplified anticipation, offering a glimpse into the world of Double Mohan — a man both feared and admired. It opens with two policemen discussing “Double,” the key link in the sandalwood smuggling network. One cop refers to him as “Kutty Veerappan” (Little Veerappan), hinting at his notoriety. Prithviraj’s character, however, comes across as bold and charismatic, unafraid to challenge authority. In one of the teaser’s standout moments, when a cop taunts him by asking, “Who do you think you are? Pushpa?”, Mohan cheekily replies, “Oh, he’s international. I’m just local.”
The teaser also teases an emotional layer to the story, revealing a softer, romantic side of Mohan supported by his devoted sweetheart. The narrative hints at power struggles and personal evolution, with Mohan confidently declaring that he has “weathered enough storms to be taken seriously.”
Written by G. R. Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan, the film promises a gripping blend of action, emotion, and rustic charm. On the technical front, Vilaayath Buddha features cinematography by Arvind S. Kashyap and Renadive, music by Jakes Bejoy, and editing by Sreejith Sarang. The art direction is by Jithu Sebastian, while the action choreography is handled by Rajasekhar, Kalai Kingson, Supreme Sundar, and Mahesh Mathew.
With its intriguing storyline, strong performances, and Prithviraj’s intense screen presence, ‘Vilaayath Buddha’ is one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year.
Fans can mark their calendars for November 21, when Double Mohan finally takes over the big screen.
