Akshay Kumar has brought back a wave of nostalgia for fans of the Welcome franchise by dropping the teaser of the reimagined version of the iconic song ‘Uncha Lamba Kad.’
The beloved track, originally picturised on Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the 2007 hit ‘Welcome’, now returns with a fresh twist in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ the third installment of the blockbuster comedy series.
According to a UNI report, the actor took to Instagram to share a vibrant video featuring himself and co-star Disha Patani dancing to the peppy new version of the popular song. The post, which quickly went viral, was accompanied by the song’s new audio track, taking fans down memory lane while sparking excitement for the upcoming film.
However, what truly stole the spotlight was Akshay’s heartfelt note for his former Welcome co-star, Katrina Kaif. Sharing the post, he wrote, “From our hearts to yours!! What a throwback, 18 years and still an all-time favourite. With so much nostalgia, beautiful Disha & I bring you Welcome to the Jungle… Never forgetting our Queen Katrina. #WelcomeToTheJungle #Welcome3.”
Welcome to the Jungle promises to carry forward the franchise’s signature humor and energy with an impressive star cast that includes Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Suniel Shetty, Johnny Lever, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Dev, and musical duo Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh. The film is directed by Ahmed Khan.
The Welcome series, which began in 2007, quickly became one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy franchises. The original featured Feroz Khan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal, while the 2015 sequel, ‘Welcome Back’, starred John Abraham and Shruti Haasan under the direction of Anees Bazmee.
With ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, Akshay Kumar aims to bring back the franchise’s signature blend of humor, music, and madness — this time with a new ensemble and renewed energy. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how the iconic track and the beloved franchise make their comeback on screen.
