Actors Abhishek Banerjee, Gajraj Rao, Ahsaas Channa, and Anshumaan Pushkar are set to collaborate on an upcoming film that promises a “unique concept blending humour, emotion, and a deeply rooted story.”
The news surfaced after Abhishek Banerjee shared a picture on his social media, teasing a possible table read session with the caption “Brewing.” The image, showing scripts placed across the table, immediately sparked excitement among fans, hinting that the talented actors are uniting for a fresh cinematic venture.
A source close to the development told IANS that the project stands out because it brings together four actors from distinctly different cinematic backgrounds. “This one brings together four actors from very different spaces, and that’s what makes it exciting. It’s a unique concept that blends humour, emotion, and a very rooted story,” the source revealed.
The insider further added that the team has been conducting multiple readings and that the chemistry among the cast members is already “electric.” “The prep work has already begun, and the shoot will start soon in Mumbai itself. It’s a fun-filled project that brings these four actors together for the first time,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee is also returning to theatre after nearly two decades with a satirical stage production titled Tu Kya Hai. The play takes a sharp, humorous look at the lives of dreamers who leave behind their homes in pursuit of becoming performers. Blending pain, absurdity, and introspection, Tu Kya Hai unfolds across three chapters — a typical middle-class Indian household that dismisses art as a hobby, the chaotic hustle of Mumbai’s entertainment scene, and the inner struggles that often surface in solitude.
Describing the play as a deeply personal journey, Abhishek said, “Tu Kya Hai holds up a mirror to my life and, in many ways, to anyone who has ever questioned themselves.”
With Banerjee juggling theatre and cinema, and this new collaboration promising a heartfelt narrative with an ensemble of versatile performers, audiences can look forward to a refreshing story that strikes a balance between humour and emotion.
