Hollywood filmmaker George Nolfi’s acclaimed 2011 sci-fi romantic thriller ‘The Adjustment Bureau’ is set to get an Indian language adaptation. Nolfi has teamed up with Sharad Devarajan, the founder and CEO of Graphic India, to reimagine the popular Hollywood film for Indian audiences.
According to a PTI report, the upcoming project will be jointly produced by Nolfi and Devarajan, who is best known for developing the hit animated series ‘The Legend of Hanuman’. The collaboration aims to reinterpret the core themes of destiny, choice, and love within the cultural and emotional framework of India’s cinematic storytelling.
Nolfi, who wrote and directed the original film starring Oscar-winner Matt Damon and A Quiet Place actor Emily Blunt, explored the eternal conflict between free will and fate. The story followed a rising politician and a gifted dancer whose love defies a shadowy organization that secretly manipulates human destiny.
Released in 2011, ‘The Adjustment Bureau’ earned widespread acclaim for its thought-provoking narrative and chemistry between its lead characters, eventually grossing over USD 127 million worldwide. The film continues to find new audiences on streaming platforms, maintaining its status as a modern classic blending science fiction and romance.
While details about the cast, crew, and production timeline for the Indian version remain under wraps, the collaboration between Nolfi and Devarajan marks a significant step in cross-cultural storytelling. The adaptation is expected to blend high-concept science fiction with Indian emotional depth, potentially opening doors for more global partnerships in the film industry.
