Zee Cinema has announced the World Television Premiere of ‘Sky Force’, a film inspired by India’s first major airstrike against Pakistan, on Sunday, October 5, at 8 PM. Produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, the action drama salutes the courage of India’s armed forces and brings alive one of the most daring missions in Indian military history.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, the film stars Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya in lead roles, alongside Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar. Blending high-octane aerial combat with emotionally charged storytelling, ‘Sky Force’ pays tribute to the grit, selflessness, and determination of the men and women safeguarding the nation’s skies.
Set against the backdrop of the 1965 conflict, the film takes audiences back to a defining moment when the Indian Air Force launched a retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s heavily guarded Sargodha Air Base. This historic mission exemplified precision, valor, and unwavering resolve, and the movie draws inspiration from these real-life events.
Akshay Kumar, who plays Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja, described the role as especially meaningful. “My father was in the Army, so whenever I wear a uniform, it fills me with strength and responsibility. Sky Force is my first time donning the Indian Air Force uniform, which made it truly special,” he said.
Veer Pahariya, portraying war hero AB Devayya, called the experience unforgettable. “I’m grateful for the love the audience gave during the theatrical run, and I can’t wait for more viewers to watch Sky Force on Zee Cinema. Working with Akshay sir was inspiring; his energy, sincerity, and humility made every scene easier for me as a debutant,” he said.
Sara Ali Khan, who plays Geeta, spoke about her emotionally intense role. “I wanted to capture her strength, her hope, and her resilience. It required me to stay deeply grounded and immerse myself in the key moments that shaped her journey,” she noted.
With its blend of breathtaking aerial sequences and heartfelt performances, ‘Sky Force’ promises to be more than just a war drama. For audiences across India, the Zee Cinema premiere offers a chance to relive a chapter of history that resonates with courage, pride, and sacrifice.
