PVR INOX Pictures has announced that Lionsgate’s highly anticipated comedy ‘Good Fortune’ will hit Indian theatres on October 17. Written and directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Aziz Ansari, the film stars Keanu Reeves, Ansari himself, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Seth Rogen, promising audiences a smart, feel-good cinematic experience.
According to a press release from PVR INOX Pictures, ‘Good Fortune’ offers a refreshing twist on the guardian angel and life-swap genres. The story follows Gabriel (Keanu Reeves), a well-meaning but hilariously inept angel, who attempts to intervene in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen). What begins as a heavenly lesson on the limits of money quickly escalates into chaos, with Gabriel facing consequences even the divine did not foresee.
Speaking about casting Reeves, director Ansari said, “Keanu Reeves’ name came up, and I was stunned as he’s such a big star. I met him and immediately knew, this has to be Keanu. Once he expressed interest in the role, the character really came to life, evolving into a loveable and unique personality with a rich arc throughout the film.”
Reeves added, “Gabriel thought he could make a difference by showing people glimpses of their future. But through being human, he learns that life’s value lies in connections with friends and loved ones — that authenticity and relationships define our journey.”
Produced by Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang, with executive producers Aniz Adam Ansari, Jonathan McCoy, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio, the film brings together some of comedy’s biggest names both on-screen and behind the camera.
