Actor Shweta Basu Prasad has joined the cast of the fourth season of ‘Maharani’, the critically acclaimed political drama headlined by Huma Qureshi, streaming service Sony LIV announced on Thursday.
The upcoming season, billed as the show’s most explosive chapter yet, will once again see Qureshi reprise her role as Rani Bharti — a woman navigating the dangerous corridors of power as her political journey extends from Bihar to Delhi.
According to a Sony LIV press release, Prasad’s entry will inject “bold, fresh energy into a world already rife with power struggles, betrayals, and ruthless political warfare.”
Since its debut, ‘Maharani’ has built a strong following for its gritty storytelling and performances, with Qureshi’s portrayal of Rani Bharti earning widespread praise.
The addition of Prasad, known for her nuanced roles in film and television, is expected to heighten the intrigue and intensity of the new season.
