NDTV Profit will host the GST Conclave 2025 on September 9 in the national capital, bringing together the country’s most influential voices from government, industry, and policy. The event, curated on the theme ‘Reforms for a Resurgent India’, will air live across the NDTV Network.
According to a press release, the Conclave will serve as a national conversation on GST 2.0, a landmark reform announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day address. GST 2.0 signals a decisive recalibration of India’s economic architecture and is expected to shape the country’s reform journey for the decade ahead.
The highlight of the event will be a fireside conversation between Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of NDTV. Their discussion will focus on the evolution of GST under her leadership, its impact on India’s competitiveness, and the government’s roadmap for the next phase of reforms.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will also share his insights on how GST has transitioned from reform to renewal, energising trade, strengthening enterprises, and reinforcing India’s role in the global economy. The dialogue will tie GST 2.0 to the country’s larger ambitions of resilience and growth.
Adding state-level perspectives, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, and Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa will highlight how GST shapes state economies and the evolving partnership between Centre and states.
From the institutional front, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), will outline the reform rollout and its expected impact on compliance and competitiveness. Industry representatives including Rajiv Memani, President of CII, Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII, Piruz Khambatta, Chairman of the CII Taxation Council and Rasna, and Dr. Naresh Trehan, CMD of Medanta, will discuss GST’s influence across sectors and its role in shaping the broader business environment.
The Conclave will also feature prominent corporate voices such as Raju Antony Pullan of Samsung, Zorawar Kalra of Massive Restaurants, and Pushpa Bector of DLF Malls, who will reflect on how GST is reshaping affordability, aspiration, and India’s consumption story.
The event will conclude with a macroeconomic perspective from Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran, who will frame GST 2.0 as a reform dividend aimed at fuelling growth, stability, and inclusion as India moves towards long-term development goals.
With its depth of discussion and diversity of perspectives, the NDTV Profit GST Conclave 2025 is set to become the definitive national platform connecting reforms with aspirations and reaffirming GST as not just a tax, but a defining symbol of a resurgent India.
