The makers of ‘Dhadak 2’ have unveiled the trailer of the highly anticipated romantic drama, revealing a heart-wrenching love story entangled in the deeply rooted caste system. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri, the film marks a powerful follow-up to the 2018 blockbuster Dhadak, this time with a darker, more socially grounded narrative.
Written and directed by Shazia Iqbal, the trailer opens with moments of youthful affection and freedom shared between Siddhant’s and Tripti’s characters. Their bond, initially tender and filled with hope, slowly begins to fray as the reality of caste-based prejudice creeps in. The trailer cuts through quiet glances, stolen moments, and societal scorn, making it clear that their love faces the harsh test of entrenched discrimination.
Iqbal, who earlier earned critical acclaim for her short film Bebaak and the Prime Video series Love Storiyaan, brings a raw, rooted tone to this story, differentiating it sharply from the glossy texture of its predecessor. Unlike ‘Dhadak’ (2018), which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, ‘Dhadak 2’ leans more into the emotional and political consequences of inter-caste romance in modern India.
The film is jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. With Siddhant and Tripti bringing an intense freshness to their roles, and a director committed to telling uncomfortable truths, ‘Dhadak 2’ appears poised to ignite conversations on social hierarchy and the cost of love in the face of systemic barriers.
‘Dhadak 2’ is slated for release on November 22, 2025, promising a gripping cinematic experience that blends intimacy with a bold social lens.
