In a striking birthday treat to fans, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh unveiled the much-anticipated first look of his upcoming action-thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, helmed by ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ director Aditya Dhar. The film, jointly backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is slated for a global theatrical release on December 5.
As reported by The Variety, the 2-minute 40-second first look teases a gritty, adrenaline-pumping world brimming with mystery, intensity, and style. Packed with high-octane visuals and raw action sequences, the footage offers glimpses of an ensemble led by Ranveer Singh, with powerful appearances by Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal.
The teaser opens with atmospheric shots underscored by a haunting original track composed by Shashwat, with vocals by Jasmine Sandlas. Rising hip-hop sensation Hanumankind joins the mix, adding his genre-fluid energy to the special track that sets the mood for Dhurandhar’s compelling universe.
Aditya Dhar, who won acclaim for his directorial debut ‘Uri’, takes on the triple responsibility of writer, director, and producer for this ambitious venture. The film is produced under the B62 Studios banner, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also backing the project. Jio Studios is presenting the film, which the makers describe as “the untold saga of the unknown men” — a theme hinting at covert heroes and forgotten warriors, reminiscent of Dhar’s earlier work rooted in military valor.
Ranveer Singh, whose career has spanned a spectrum of genres and towering performances, returns to the action genre with ‘Dhurandhar’ after a string of successful and diverse projects. From his 2010 debut in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, to unforgettable roles in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmaavat’, and ‘Gully Boy’, Singh has continually reinvented himself. Most recently, he charmed audiences in Karan Johar’s romantic comedy ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ (2023), reaffirming his star power across commercial and critical circuits.
With ‘Dhurandhar’, the actor takes a darker, more enigmatic turn — wrapped in a world of high-stakes conflict, layered storytelling, and a pulse-pounding soundtrack. As fans flood social media with excitement over the teaser, anticipation builds for what could become one of the year’s most talked-about releases.
