Anil Uniyal has resigned as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NDTV, marking the end of his two-year stint with the network. His departure comes at a time of transition and renewed focus for the legacy media house, which has been undergoing internal restructuring and strategic realignment.
Uniyal formally stepped down from his executive responsibilities, though he is expected to facilitate a smooth handover over the next few weeks. During his tenure, Uniyal oversaw several critical operational functions and played a key role in streamlining the network’s processes following its acquisition by the Adani Group.
Uniyal had joined NDTV in 2022, bringing with him more than two decades of experience across media, advertising, and business strategy. Before his stint at NDTV, he had held leadership roles at companies like HT Media and Network18, and was widely regarded as a steady and solutions-driven executive in India’s news media ecosystem.
In his role as COO, Uniyal was instrumental in integrating operational teams, refining content distribution workflows, and bolstering revenue streams during a highly competitive period in the broadcast news industry. His exit comes just months after NDTV appointed new editorial and leadership heads, signaling continued transformation under its new ownership.
The network is yet to announce a successor to Uniyal’s role. As per company sources, an internal evaluation is underway to decide whether the position will be filled immediately or merged into an expanded leadership portfolio.
