In a major boost to India’s media and entertainment sector, Bodhitree Multimedia Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs.500 crore with the Government of Assam.
The landmark agreement, signed on February 26, 2025, sets the stage for the development of a world-class Global Media and Cultural Hub in Guwahati.
According to a press release from Bodhi Tree, the ambitious project is poised to transform Guwahati into a vibrant center for film, television and cultural activities, significantly elevating Assam’s presence on the global map. This strategic initiative will drive economic growth, create employment opportunities, and stimulate tourism in the region.
The planned Global Media Hub will include cutting-edge production facilities, a luxury seven-star wellness resort, and an immersive India Pavilion showcasing the nation’s rich cultural diversity. Designed to cater to the evolving demands of the global entertainment industry, the project will position Assam as a premier destination for both leisure and business travellers, the press statement added.
Mautik Tolia, CEO of Bodhitree Multimedia, while expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stated, “We are proud to partner with the Government of Assam to establish a world-class ecosystem that will position Assam as a global hub for media, sports, and wellness.
