Zee TV has launched an anticipated show, ‘Jamai No. 1’, in collaboration with Studio LSD Productions. Premiering on December 9, the show airs every Monday to Friday at 10.30 pm and brings an unconventional twist to the quintessential Indian jamai (son-in-law)’s jo
In Indian culture, the jamaiis often revered and pampered. However, ‘Jamai No. 1’ reimagines this tradition with its protagonist, Neel Paranjape, a witty, spirited charmer who enters the Chotwani household not with humility but with a mission to stir things up.
Abhishek Malik stars as Neel, a man raised in Nashik by a traditional pujari father, instilled with strong middle-class values but determined to forge his path. With his quirky sense of jugaad and infectious charm, Neel navigates his new family dynamics, clashing humorously with the matriarch, Kanchan Chotwani, played by Papia Sengupta.
The show’s drama revolves around Neel’s evolving relationship with the Chotwanis, particularly Riddhi Chotwani, portrayed by Simaran Kaur, and her controlling mother, Kanchan.
Speaking about the show, Mangesh Kulkarni, Chief Channel Officer of Zee TV, highlighted its unique narrative, “At Zee TV, we aim to explore fresh storytelling horizons. ‘Jamai No. 1’brings a male protagonist into the spotlight, whose charm and wit redefine family dynamics.”
