The makers of Ram Charan’s highly anticipated upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘RC16’, have announced the addition of Mirzapur fame star Divyenndu to the cast. This will mark Divyenndu’s debut in the South film industry. On November 30, Vriddhi Cinemas, the producers of the film, shared Divyenndu’s first-look poster, unveiling his new role in the project.
In the poster, Divyenndu sports an animal-print shirt paired with black jeans, while his long beard and intense look give off strong villainous vibes, hinting at his character’s dark and compelling persona in the film. Taking to Instagram, Vriddhi Cinemas welcomed the actor, writing, “Our favourite ‘Munna Bhayya’ will light up the big screens in a spectacular role tailor-made for him. Team #RC16 welcomes the incredibly talented and compelling performer @divyenndu on board.”
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘RC16’ also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Kannada superstar Shiva Raj Kumar, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles. The film’s shooting is set to begin soon, and it is being bankrolled by Sukumar Writings, the home banner of director Sukumar. The music for RC16 is composed by Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman.
Meanwhile, Divyenndu is set to be seen next in the film Agni, written and directed by Rahul Dholakia. The film, which stars Pratik Gandhi, Jitendra Joshi, Saiyami Kher, and Kabir Shah in lead roles, is slated for release on December 6 on Amazon Prime Video. The teaser for Agni, released earlier this month, opens with a burning building and shows firefighters risking their lives to battle the flames. Divyenndu plays Samit, the brother-in-law and police officer to Gandhi’s character, Vithal, a fearless firefighter.
Divyenndu, known for his critically acclaimed role in ‘Madgaon Express’ earlier this year, first rose to fame through his intense portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in the popular web series ‘Mirzapur’. The series, which also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Rasika Duggal, Vikrant Massey, and Shweta Tripathi, has become a fan favourite. The fourth season of ‘Mirzapur’ is currently in development and will be released soon.
