India is set to host the 20th Asian Women’s Handball Championship for the first time from December 3 to 10, 2024, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
The prestigious tournament, presented by the World Handball League (WHL) and organized by the Asian Handball Federation, will feature Asia’s top teams, including 16-time champions South Korea, Japan, China, and Kazakhstan.

In a groundbreaking move to popularize handball in India, Doordarshan will broadcast the championship live, marking a significant milestone in making the sport accessible to millions. Highlights of the matches will air during prime time, with live coverage on finals day. The tournament will also be streamed live on SportCast India’s YouTube channel.
