Renowned actress Scarlett Johansson has announced she will be leading the cast of the upcoming Jurassic World film, directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Rogue One.’
The screenplay is penned by David Koepp, a celebrated writer who returns to the franchise after 30 years. Johansson expressed her enthusiasm in an interview with Variety, revealing her lifelong admiration for the Jurassic Park series.
“I am an enormous Jurassic Park fan,” Johansson shared, “It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in theatres. I remember it so vividly. It was life-changing and mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”
This fourth installment of the Jurassic World series promises a fresh narrative, distinct from the original trilogy that starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Johansson described the script as “so incredible,” emphasizing the unique direction the film will take.
The previous three Jurassic World movies collectively grossed over $1 billion each at the global box office, setting high expectations for the forthcoming sequel. Johansson will be joined by an impressive cast, including Jonathan Bailey, David Iacono, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
“David Koepp wrote it and returned after 30 years to write it and he’s so passionate about it,” Johansson said. “I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years. I’m like, ‘I’ll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I’ll do the craft service!’ I’ll do anything for it. The fact that it’s happened this way at this time is unbelievable.”
The production of Jurassic World 4 is set to take place in exotic locations such as Thailand, studios in Malta, and the UK. Steven Spielberg will serve as the executive producer through Amblin Entertainment, with long-time Jurassic Park producer Frank Marshall returning, alongside his regular producing partner Patrick Crowley.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to an exciting new chapter with Scarlett Johansson leading an ensemble cast, promising an exhilarating addition to the Jurassic World saga.
