Shemaroo Entertainment has made a significant addition to its leadership team by appointing Swati Darekar as the Head of Programming for the Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC).
With an illustrious career in the domain of General Entertainment Channels, Darekar’s expertise is poised to shape the content strategy for Shemaroo’s Hindi GEC cluster.
In her new role, Darekar will drive the content strategy, focusing on Shemaroo TV and Shemaroo Umang. Her responsibilities include spearheading content conceptualization, development, and execution. By leading a team of content creators, Darekar aims to craft compelling and relevant content that resonates deeply with the target audience.
Darekar brings a wealth of experience to Shemaroo Entertainment, having held pivotal positions in renowned networks. Previously, she served as the Fiction Head (Vice President of HME Content) at Colors (Viacom18) and held significant roles as Creative Director (Vice President of Content) at Sony Entertainment Television (Sony Pictures Networks) and Creative Director (Vice President- Fiction Programming) at Star Plus (Disney Star).
Darekar’s appointment marks a strategic move by Shemaroo Entertainment, emphasizing its dedication to providing high-quality and captivating content for its audience, thereby aiming to elevate the viewer experience across its Hindi GEC platforms.
