India TV, the pioneering news group with India’s first CTV news channels, has unveiled a dedicated CTV stream for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Commencing on October 5, this exciting streaming service will be accessible via the India TV Smart TV App.
The newly launched 24/7 streaming platform promises to deliver uninterrupted live coverage of the cricket world cup, accompanied by expert analysis and immersive behind-the-scenes stories, catering to cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
Additionally, viewers can anticipate captivating documentaries showcasing Indian Cricket grounds and engaging cricket quizzes, the channel said in a statement.
Ritu Dhawan, the Managing Director, and CEO of India TV, expressed her enthusiasm about this new venture, stating, “Recognizing the significant overlap between news and cricket audiences, we are delighted to provide exclusive coverage of the cricket world cup through our dedicated sports stream, accessible via our smart TV app.”
This latest move follows India TV’s August announcement, where they introduced their main channel and two specialized CTV channels on CTV devices. In addition to India TV Live, these channels include India TV Speed News and India TV Aap ki Adalat. India TV also has plans to introduce several more channels in the near future.
The decision to venture into the CTV platform aligns with the evolving news and entertainment landscape. In recent years, CTV has become a focal point of interest as it combines the immersive large-screen TV experience with the precise target measurement capabilities of digital platforms. Moreover, it allows content providers to transcend the limitations of 24-hour broadcasting, offering structured and engaging information to viewers. According to the FICCI-EY report of 2022, it is projected that CTVs will reach approximately 40 million users by 2025.
As India TV continues to innovate and cater to the diverse preferences of its audience, the launch of this exclusive CTV stream for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 reaffirms its commitment to delivering high-quality content across multiple platforms. Cricket enthusiasts can now enjoy an unprecedented level of coverage and engagement during this prestigious sporting event.
