Sony BBC Earth, an infotainment channel committed to making audiences ‘feel alive,’ recently captivated young minds with an extraordinary Science Movie Festival.
Spanning three days, this innovative festival took place at the prestigious Nehru Science Centre in Mumbai and left an indelible mark on over 1,000 students, according to a press release issued by the infotainment TV channel.
By blending the enchantment of cinema with an educational journey, the event created an atmosphere of wonder and inspiration for schoolchildren throughout the city.
The Science Movie Festival, a collaborative initiative between Sony BBC Earth and Nehru Science Centre, sought to revolutionize the way children perceive and engage with science.
Featured films like ‘James Webb: The $10 Billion Space Telescope’ transported students to the cosmos, offering the potential to redefine our understanding of the universe. ‘Spectacular Earth (Aurora)’ showcased the mesmerizing Northern and Southern Lights, providing a glimpse into Earth’s magnetic beauty, while ‘Spectacular Earth (Volcano)’ unveiled the raw power and astonishing landscapes shaped by this natural phenomenon.
The festival transcended traditional educational boundaries, granting young audiences a front-row seat to the wonders of the universe.
Over the course of three days, students from a myriad of schools across Mumbai converged at Nehru Science Centre, becoming part of an enlightening journey.
The screening sessions witnessed active participation from diverse schools, and after each screening, an interactive Q&A session followed, rewarding eager participants with exciting prizes.
Rohan Jain, Business Operations Head – Sony AATH and Head – Marketing & Insights, English Cluster, Sony Pictures Networks, said, “We have always believed in catering to young and curious minds through our content and initiatives.
“The Science Movie Festival is not just an event; it’s an experience that has the potential to ignite a lifelong passion for science in the hearts of young learners. Through the power of visual storytelling, we aim to nurture a new generation of explorers and thinkers.”
