Shemaroo Entertainment, a prominent media and entertainment company, has appointed Saurabh Srivastava as (COO) for its Digital Business division.
Srivastava brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Head of Product & Revenue Strategy for the Hindi Entertainment Network at Disney Star India, where he played a crucial role in driving ad-sales revenue on linear TV.
Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo, expressed his delight at Srivastava’s appointment, emphasizing his extensive and successful background in various business functions and geographies at global organizations such as Disney, Marico, and Coca Cola. Gada believes Srivastava’s expertise will play a pivotal role in accelerating Shemaroo’s digital expansion and further strengthening its leadership in the ever-evolving media and entertainment industry.
Arghya Chakravarty, COO of Shemaroo, also praised Srivastava’s leadership and proven track record in driving monetization across multiple platforms. Chakravarty highlighted Srivastava’s experience at Disney Star and Marico as instrumental in driving growth across Shemaroo’s digital video, music, and OTT businesses. Srivastava will report to Chakravarty and join the Shemaroo Executive Committee.
As per the company, during his career, Srivastava has held key positions at Marico, where he oversaw P&L responsibility for South East Asia, and co-founded Studio Samsara in Malaysia, establishing an omnichannel model and implementing a digital marketing strategy. With 17 years of experience, including working with Coca Cola India, Srivastava’s appointment is expected to contribute significantly to Shemaroo’s digital transformation journey and its B2C agenda.
