Googly, directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee and produced by Surinder Films, delves into the lives of Dali and Arjun, a couple who suffer from stammering.
Because of her speech defect, Dali (Srabanti Chatterjee) is mocked by her friends and frequently left alone in social gatherings. Her parents are adamant about getting her married, but she is constantly rejected.
Arjun (Soham Chakraborty) and his family come to see Dali and soon, it is revealed that Arjun also stammers; however, both Dali and Arjun’s parents remain in the dark about the speech defect of the prospective groom and bride.
Elated, Dali and Arjun decide to become friends, and they eventually marry. When the question of having a baby arises in their happy marriage, the problem arises. Their lives take an unexpected turn after the birth of their son Googly, and what happens next forms the story’s central conflict.
Kanchan Mullick plays Arjun’s friend, and the film also stars Aritra Dutta Banik, Manasi Sinha, and others.
