Marriage is the union of two souls who make a lifelong commitment to love, support, and cherish each other. What happens if this commitment is broken on the first day of marriage? ‘Agnisakshi… Ek Samjhauta’, COLORS’ new fiction drama, follows the lives of a couple whose marriage is about to expire.
It follows Jeevika (Shivika Pathak), whose dream of starting a new life with her husband Satvik (Aashay Mishra) is shattered on the first night of their marriage. Will their love story be cut short before it has a chance?
Produced by Pichchar Studio, the show premieres on January 23 and will air every Monday to Friday at 9 pm on COLORS, according to a media statement from the TV channel.
‘Agnisakshi… Ek Samjhauta’ is a story that follows the lives of Jeevika Rane and Satvik Bhosle, two polar opposite people who are brought together by fate and coaxed into a matrimonial union by their families. Unlike Jeevika, Satvik is opposed to the marriage, and in an unexpected turn of events, he hands over the divorce papers to his spouse on the first night of their marriage.
“We, at COLORS, are driven by the endeavor to create and present content that is diverse and engaging,” said Manisha Sharma, Chief Content Officer, Hindi Mass Entertainment, Viacom18.
“With ‘Agnisakshi… Ek Samjhauta’, we hope to highlight how matrimonial traditions are woven into our cultural fabric. Rather than love, this story begins with a divorce.
“It will be interesting to watch the journey of characters as they traverse through the grey areas of marriage. We are delighted to be working with Pichchar Studio on this project, and we hope that the complex, yet fascinating journey of Jeevika and Satvik will strike a chord with the audience,” Sharma added.
