On the desktop version, the Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has begun to roll out a new feature that allows users to search groups by entering a contact name.
According to IANS, the feature became available to some users after installing the most recent WhatsApp Desktop update.
With the new feature, users can get a list of all their recent groups in common with a contact by entering their name within the search bar.
It is useful for users who have joined multiple groups on the platform and cannot recall the name of a group they have in common with a specific contact.
According to the report, it will be made available to more people in the coming days.
Last month, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on a mute shortcut for group chats for a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta.
Meanwhile, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced earlier this month that the company is bringing digital avatars to the messaging platform.
