The Hindi movie channel &pictures is set to entice its audience with the World Television premiere of the ‘Mohalla Assi’ on October 29, at 9.30 PM.
Starring Sunny Deol and Sakshi Tanwar, the movie is based on the Hindi novel ‘Kashi Ka Assi’ by Dr. Kashi Nath Singh, which is a parody of the commercialization of pilgrimage cities and bogus gurus who lure tourists.
Centered around the holy city of Varanasi, a determined Sanskrit scholar is adamant about changing age-old practices, walking the righteous path, and taking the moral high ground by deciding to take matters into his own hands as the world around him changes and he struggles to keep up.
Based on Kashinath Singh’s novel ‘Kashi Ka Assi’, the film is about the changing cultural dynamics and social fabric at Varanasi’s Assi Ghat.
