Zee Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand (Zee UPUK), a leading news channel of the region, has surpassed all competitors, as per the latest BARC India data released.
The data reports that Zee UP/UK tops the list with the highest market share of 55 percent, overtaking its competitor ABP Ganga, which has a 10 percent market share.
Other competitors like News State and News 18 have seen a fall in viewership with 17 percent and 10 percent market share, respectively. Further, Zee UPUK has consistently been the most viewed channel in the state for 31 weeks consecutively, the company said quoting BARC data.
This data for UP-Uttarakhand news genre is for Wk 49’21 to Wk 27’22, 15+ All, 0600-2400 hrs.
The channel was launched to provide factual and unbiased news to the people of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the company said.
In the past 13 weeks, the BARC report has also established that the channel also leads in ATS with a reach of 15 million individuals per month in the region. The channel has cemented its leadership in both urban and rural market strata in all time bands too.
This aforementioned data is for Barc week 15’22 to Wk 27’22, 15+ All, 0600-2400 hrs, monthly reach (2+)and ATS.
Some of the flagship popular shows of the channels that have helped the channel gain its dominance across time bands are include ‘UP Maange Uttar’, ‘Jan Man’, ‘Khabar Garda Hai’, ‘4 Ki Chausar’, and ‘Jagte Raho’.
Since Zee UPUK garners millions of viewership it has also become the top choice for advertising and marketing, the channel added.
