A strong healthcare sector is the backbone of a developing nation with its countless medical and healthcare workers being the unsung heroes. The entire world has been a witness to their efforts over the past two years in fighting a deadly virus, saving lives, and going above and beyond to help those in need.

News18 Kannada recently honored such heroes without whom this world cannot progress. The channel’s prestigious News18 Kannada Amrith Noni Healthcare Awards 2022, held on June 26, at the Conrad Bengaluru, felicitated personalities from the state’s healthcare system for their extraordinary contribution.

A communication campaign was organized to invite nominations, which received many responses across different categories.

These categories broadly included all those who have significantly contributed to the healthcare of the state — the support staff services that aid the healthcare system, non-government enterprises, and those working in the alternative medicine who have worked tirelessly to ensure that it reaches every sector and community, the company said in a statement.

In all, 17 awards were given to the best in the Healthcare industry, like the Best Ambulance Driver, Best Nurse, Best PHC, Best Community Service, Best Social Service, Best Charitable Trust, Best Multi-Specialty, Best Child and Mother Care, Best Tertiary Care, Best Homeopathy, and so on.

A Jury meet, held on June 8, selected the best possible awardees among different categories. News18 Kannada’s super-equipped Research team and the juries intensively reviewed all the applications received.

The event witnessed the august presence of prominent personalities like Dr. K. Sudhakar – Health Minister, Sri. R. Ashok- Revenue Minister, Sri. S. T. Somashekhar – Co-operative Minister, Sri. Rizwan Arshad – MLA, Shivaji Nagar, Sri. Tejaswi Surya – MP Bangalore South, and Sandalwood stars, Krishna Ajay Rao, Asha Bhat, Sudharani, and Suneel Rao.

The event became a huge success with government officials appreciating News18 Kannada for such an initiative.
