Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL)’s young Chief Revenue Officer Abhay Ojha passed away early Sunday following a cardiac arrest.
Ojha, who had joined ZMCL earlier this year, is survived by his wife and two children.
Condolences poured in from industry people with everybody describing Ojha as a good human being and a great colleague to work with.
Immediately before coming to ZMCL, which was earlier known as Zee News Ltd., Ojha was President, Sales and Marketing, at News Nation where he had joined in 2013.
Ojha had also done stints in various marketing and sales positions at other media companies like the Associated Broadcasting Co. Pvt Ltd (TV9); Reliance Broadcast Network (Anil Ambani Group) where he was the national head for revenue for its then newly-launched Hindi GEC Big Magic, which was subsequently sold to Zee Entertainment in 2016, and Network18.
In his LinkedIn profile, Ojha had written that he had been “privileged to be part of prominent broadcasting organizations”, which came up with newer media channels and he ably “accepted the challenge to create a sustainable and formidable presence” for the new products.
“On a personal front, when deadlines aren’t driving me around the bend, I find inspiration from my family by spending quality time, happy to be sports enthusiast, voracious appetite for books et all,” he wrote in his LinkedIn profile, giving people a little peek into his personal thought process.
