TV9 Bangla has unveiled its flagship ‘Sharadiya’ programming line-up under the theme ‘Pujo Ebar TV9 Bangla’. The special line-up celebrates Bengal’s traditions, culture and festive spirit through programmes featuring local communities, celebrities and Durga Puja celebrations across the state and beyond.
According to a TV9 Bangla press release, the celebrations began with ‘Sharad Sandhya’, an initiative that reached out to neighbourhoods and Durga Puja committees across Kolkata. It featured community interactions, games and prize distributions, with support from brands including Shree Hari, LalBaba Rice, Wild Stone Oud and Skin Fair Glow.
The line-up includes ‘Bohuroope Durga’, which explores the different forms of Goddess Durga worshipped across Bengal, along with the history and local traditions associated with them. ‘Anna Durga’ will highlight women from different sections of society who have overcome challenges and emerged victorious against adversity.
For entertainment, ‘Pujor Adda’ will bring celebrities together for festive conversations from October 17 to 20 at 3 pm. ‘Dekhchi Thakur Pandel-e’ will take viewers around Kolkata’s Durga Puja pandals, while ‘Prabasher Pujo’ will showcase celebrations among Bengali communities living across the world.
Another key highlight is the ‘Sera’ series, which will recognise notable Durga Puja celebrations. ‘TV9 Bangla Sera Barowari’ will cover 30 of Kolkata’s community pujas and honour the top three with ‘TV9 Sherar Samman’. ‘TV9 Bangla Sera Abasan’ will feature 10 notable pujas organised by housing societies and resident welfare associations (RWAs). Meanwhile, ‘TV9 Bangla Jelar Sera 9’ will showcase noteworthy Durga Puja celebrations across districts of West Bengal.
The festive line-up will conclude with ‘Bisharjan Live’ on October 20. The programme will bring live coverage from different immersion ghats, along with stories about the rituals, traditions and cultural practices associated with Durga Puja in Kolkata, other districts and Bengali communities around the world.
