Malhotra’s role involves identifying new markets and building them into drivers of enterprise growth by combining technology, content and an understanding of local market dynamics. His focus includes creating opportunities for JioStar across international territories while adapting its businesses and platforms to the requirements of individual markets.
Before joining JioStar, Malhotra served as Senior Advisor to Emtek Group in Indonesia and Asia Equity Partners. He also founded Liven Asia, where he led the company’s regional expansion from the ground up.
Malhotra has held senior leadership positions across some of the global media industry’s leading companies. He served as Managing Director – HBO Max for India and Southeast Asia at WarnerMedia, where he was involved in the company’s streaming operations across the region.

He also led content sales and distribution for Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer and International business across India, Southeast Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. His experience across both content and technology-led businesses has positioned him to oversee JioStar’s international expansion across multiple areas of its global operations.
