Filmmaker Rima Das’ award-winning film ‘Village Rockstars 2’ will release in cinemas across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune on September 25.
According to a PTI report from Mumbai, the nationwide release follows the film’s theatrical run in Assam and its screening at MAMI Independent.
‘Village Rockstars 2’ is a follow-up to Das’ 2017 film ‘Village Rockstars’. However, the new film stands on its own as a coming of age story, exploring childhood, adolescence, nature, climate change, music and the relationship between a mother and daughter.
The film focuses on the experiences of growing up and explores the changing relationship between a mother and daughter. It also looks at how nature, climate change and music form part of the characters’ lives.
The new film continues Das’ storytelling style, which focuses on everyday experiences, personal relationships and the lives of its characters.
‘Village Rockstars 2’ will now have a wider theatrical release across major Indian cities from September 25.
