News18 India’s prime time show ‘Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat’, anchored by veteran journalist Kishore Ajwani, has completed 10 years. The show has marked a decade of journalism, analysis and a strong connection with viewers.

According to News18 India, the programme completes 10 years at a time when television news and audience expectations have changed significantly. However, ‘Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat’ has continued with the same approach with which it started presenting news clearly, directly and in simple language.

The show began with the aim of presenting news through research-based analysis and examining important developments from different perspectives. Over the years, it has grown into one of News18 India’s long-running and recognised programmes.

Its 10 year journey has also been marked by a strong connection with viewers. The programme has built a loyal audience through its focus on facts and consistent approach to news, with viewer trust remaining an important part of its identity.

Kishore Ajwani, Managing Editor, said the show began with a simple decision to trust the news and the viewers. He said that while news and the way people consume it have changed over the past decade, the need for clarity, context and credibility has remained the same.

Ajwani said one of the most rewarding parts of the journey has been seeing viewers return to the show regularly because they know what to expect. He added that 10 years is an important milestone, but the real achievement is the trust the programme has built with its viewers.

Jyoti Kamal, Managing Editor, News18 India, PH, Kadak, said the 10-year milestone represents the consistency of the show at a time when audience attention and news consumption are constantly changing. She said ‘Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat’ has built a distinct identity by staying focused on journalism while remaining relevant to viewers.

Kamal said that at News18 India, leadership in news is not only about reach but also about relevance, credibility and building a lasting relationship with the audience. She also highlighted Ajwani’s calm and distinctive way of presenting stories, saying it has become an important part of the show’s identity and its connection with viewers.

As ‘Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat’ enters its second decade, the programme will continue to focus on credible, relevant and viewer-focused journalism, in line with News18 India’s editorial approach.
