B.R. Chopra’s iconic mythological series ‘Mahabharat‘ is set to return on Shemaroo TV from September 14. The series will air daily at 7:00 PM in the prime time slot.
The show is part of Shemaroo TV’s continued focus on mythology, devotion and timeless Indian storytelling. The channel is bringing back the popular series as part of its programming for the festive and family viewing season.
According to a Shemaroo TV press release today, originally created by filmmaker B.R. Chopra, ‘Mahabharat’ holds a special place in the history of Indian television. The series continues to connect with audiences across generations through its story, memorable characters and portrayal of the epic.
The return of ‘Mahabharat’ is also part of Shemaroo TV’s focus on classic and well-known content. The channel has previously featured popular mythological and devotional shows including ‘Ramayan’, ‘Shri Krishna’, ‘Jai Ganga Maiya’, ‘Mahakaali’, ‘Kamdhenu Gau Mata’, ‘Mata Saraswati’ and ‘Shani Dev’.
Sandeep Gupta, COO Broadcasting, Shemaroo Entertainment, said ‘Mahabharat’ is part of India’s collective cultural memory and its storytelling and themes continue to remain relevant across generations.
He added that bringing the series to daily prime time is part of Shemaroo TV’s focus on evergreen content with proven and lasting audience appeal. The channel expects the show to strengthen viewer engagement across its target audiences.
The return of ‘Mahabharat’ is expected to give viewers an opportunity to revisit one of Indian television’s celebrated mythological stories. It also strengthens Shemaroo TV’s focus on mythology and culturally rooted programming.
B.R. Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ will premiere on Shemaroo TV on September 14 at 7:00 PM and will air daily.
