OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Images 2.5, an updated image-generation model for ChatGPT. The new version is designed to create images faster while offering better quality, sharper details and improved editing.

According to an OpenAI announcement yesterday,ChatGPT Images 2.5 can create images with more realistic details, lighting and textures. OpenAI said the new model can generate images up to 50 percent faster than the previous Images 2.0 model.

The update also brings improved image editing capabilities. Users can make specific changes to an image while keeping other parts of the image unchanged. This makes it easier to edit backgrounds, products, text and other elements.

OpenAI has also introduced the Sketch feature, which allows users to make a simple drawing and use it as a guide for generating an image. Users can also continue editing an image through a conversation while maintaining better consistency.

The new update includes templates for formats such as posters and merchandise. Users can also add comments to images to explain the changes they want and share the prompts used to create their images.

ChatGPT Images 2.5 is being rolled out to ChatGPT users across web, desktop and mobile. OpenAI has also introduced new image models for developers through its API.
