South India film body asks TN producers to continue shoots

The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) has urged Tamil Nadu film producers to reconsider their decision to stop shooting and production work from September 1.

According to a PTI report, FEFSI said the move could affect the livelihoods of thousands of daily-wage film workers who depend on regular work in the industry.

In its appeal to the Tamil Nadu government and producers’ associations, FEFSI asked the state government to step in and hold talks between producers, workers and other stakeholders to resolve the issue.
The appeal comes after the Tamil Film Producers Council and Tamil Film Active Producers Association announced plans to stop all film-related activities, including new releases, from September 1.

The producers have cited disputes with theatre owners and financial difficulties as the reasons behind the decision.
