AG. AL has been crowned the Esports World Cup 2026 Club Champion, securing the $7 million (around Rs. 66.9 crore) title after seven weeks of competition in Paris. AG. AL finished with 5,300 points, with its championship victory sealed by Gwendal ‘Gwen’ Duparc’s win in the inaugural Trackmania tournament.

Team Falcons finished second with 4,600 points, followed by Team Vitality with 3,300 points, Natus Vincere with 2,950 points and Team Liquid with 2,700 points.According to an Esports World Cup press release from Paris today, the EWC 2026 featured more than 2,000 players from over 100 countries, representing 200 Clubs and competing across 25 tournaments in 24 games, with a record $75 million (around Rs. 717 crore) prize pool.

AG. AL also claimed first place in Tekken 8, while finishing second in Chess, Free Fire and the Honor of Kings World Cup, and third in Teamfight Tactics.The Paris edition also delivered major audience records, reaching 850 million viewers and generating 440 million hours watched, up 13 percent and 26 percent respectively from last year.

The event sold 175,000 tickets, up 94 percent compared with 2025, while total visits across competition venues, Fan Fest and city activations crossed 2 million. More than 100 broadcast and OTT partners covered the event in 47 languages, supported by around 5,000 creators and co-streamers.

Several milestones highlighted the tournament, with 15-year-old Jaime ‘Craime’ Bustos becoming the youngest EWC champion, Samy ‘dralii’ Hajji becoming the first three-time EWC champion and Magnus Carlsen successfully defending his Chess title without losing a game. More than 1.5 million players also took part in 330 Road to EWC events during the year.

Paris became the first city to host the Esports World Cup outside Riyadh, with more than 22,600 campaign placements carrying EWC across the capital and reaching 94 percent of Parisians.

The Esports Foundation also signed an MOU with France’s Ministry of Sports, Youth and Community Life covering youth development, digital skills, esports participation and French talent. The Esports World Cup will return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027.
