Sun TV Network has entered the fast growing micro drama space with the launch of ‘Sun NXT Shorts’, a new short-form content offering on its OTT platform Sun NXT.
According to an ANI report, the new service is designed for viewers who prefer short and quick stories that can be watched on mobile phones as well as TVs. The launch includes around 150 titles across South Indian languages.
The content includes original short stories as well as popular films and shows that have been reworked into shorter, vertical formats.
Titles such as ‘Endhiran’ and ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ are among the content being adapted for this format.
Sun NXT is focusing on vertical, mobile-friendly storytelling while also making the content suitable for television screens.
The platform is initially offering the service for free and plans to introduce a subscription model later.
With ‘Sun NXT Shorts’, Sun TV Network aims to use its large South Indian content library to reach audiences looking for quick entertainment and short-format stories.
