The Indian Premier League (IPL) has become even bigger in the business world, with its total business value crossing $20 billion for the first time. As per a study by investment bank Houlihan Lokey, the IPL’s business value has increased to $20.6 billion in 2026.
According to a Reuters report from New Delhi yesterday, the report says the IPL continues to grow because of its huge TV and streaming deals, sponsorships, ticket sales, merchandise, and the increasing popularity of its franchises.
The tournament has attracted millions of fans across the world, making it one of the most valuable sports leagues globally.
The IPL’s overall brand value has also increased by 10.3 percent, reaching $4.3 billion. This growth has been driven by strong partnerships with broadcasters, advertisers, and sponsors, along with rising interest from investors.
Among all the teams, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is now the most valuable IPL franchise, with a brand value of $312 million.
The report also noted that recent investments in IPL teams show that the league continues to attract strong investor confidence.
The IPL is no longer just a cricket tournament. It has become a global sports and entertainment brand that continues to grow in popularity and business value every year, the report concluded.
